Indo-Siam can assist qualifying clients with securing protection under the Treaty of Amity and Economic Relations Between the United States and Thailand.
There are several steps to this process, involving processing at both the US Embassy/US Commercial Service, and the Thai Ministry of Commerce, Department of Business Development, located on Nonthaburi.
In order to qualify for coverage under the Treaty, the following must apply:
- A majority of the company's shares must be held by American citizens, or by a company based on US soil, that has a majority of its shares held by US citizens.
- A majority of directors whose signature may bind the company must be either Thai or American citizens.
If the above provisions are met, we can complete processing on your behalf if you provide us with the following:
- An Embassy-notarized copy of the passport of each US Citizen who is a shareholder or director (which must be obtained in person at US Citizens Services - bring original passport with you.
Note: In an Amity Treaty company, a director who is neither a Thai nor a US citizen may NOT have single-signature authority. Such a third country national may only have co-signing director authority, along with another director who is either a Thai or US citizen.
